Karina Zorzella
Ms. Zorzella has studied, while completing her graduate
studies in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University Toronto, the
role of attachment and therapeutic alliance in psychotherapy with children and
adults who experienced trauma. Her
Master’s thesis examined the influence of attachment on clients’ perceptions of
treatment relationships in group therapy with individuals with a history of
childhood abuse. She trained as a
clinical psychologist in her native Brazil and is currently conducting her
doctoral studies in Clinical Developmental Psychology at York University. As part of her doctoral clinical training, she is also
presently conducting psychological assessments of children and adolescents at
ROCK – Reach Out Centre for Kids in the Halton Region. Ms. Zorzella brings over 10 years of
experience working with children, adolescents and parents in a variety of
clinical and welfare settings in Brazil and Canada. Additionally, she has undertaken further
training in child psychotherapy at the Toronto Child Psychoanalytic
Program. Aside from her clinical work,
Ms. Zorzella enjoys traveling, reading, movies, music and spending time with
her family.
